Week 1

A short one to start with since I want to do these every Sunday but it’s been a great start to the year.

Finished off my first book “A Concise Guide to Macroeconomics”. It was as exciting as you can imagine but I learned a really good overview of macroeconomics and how different factors such as interest, inflation, exchange rates, etc interact. I have an economics class as part of my course so I wanted a basic idea of some of the topics covered and this definitely provided that.

Just before christmas I got myself a Mac Mini to use as my development machine with the intention of tethering my work to my office. This week I got devcontainers setup for a few of my main projects and a decent vim config setup so I can develop locally. Previously I’d work on my laptop but the actual coding would happen on a dev server.

I’ve started to redo how I was doing DoingThisNext to allow BYO devices. I’ve gotten the web interface mostly done and going to knock through a bit more of the on device software tonight.
